Work experience at Cognitive Publishing in Manchester

In January I was fortunate to spend a week with Cognitive Publishing in Manchester, where I shadowed the team of digital journalists. I wrote several articles for Cognitive’s Public Sector Executive magazine and I produced two daily news bulletins too.

I learned some valuable skills including maximising search engine optimisation and understanding the different techniques required for writing articles and scripts for broadcasts.

Meet the Author

I have recently completed a master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Salford.

I have over four years of experience in sports broadcasting and have previously worked as a lead journalist for a Manchester-based magazine.

I am an NCTJ-qualified journalist, and have passed modules including Essential Media Law, Public Affairs, Sports Journalism and Shorthand 80wpm. I am also skilled with Adobe Premier Pro and Audition.
